Adequate and Balanced Nutrition Education

Within the scope of the Public Health course of the Department of Nursing, Faculty of Health Sciences of our University, on 03.05.2023, Adequate and Balanced Nutrition training was given to the trainees of Bolu İzzet Baysal Public Education Center under the supervision of Kenan Öztürkör, Director of Bolu İzzet Baysal Public Education Center, in order to provide information about Adequate and Balanced Nutrition. In this training, the definition of adequate and balanced nutrition, basic nutritional elements were mentioned, and then nutritional literacy, which has a great importance in choosing healthy nutrition and healthy food, was mentioned. Towards the end of the training, it was noted that obesity was responsible for 80% of the common diabetes cases, 35% of ischemic heart diseases and 55% of hypertension, and that one of the biggest causes was inadequate and unbalanced nutrition, and this was summarized. In cooperation with Bolu İzzet Baysal Public Education Center, faculty members of the Department of Public Health Nursing, Faculty of Health Sciences, Assoc. Dr. Makbule Tokur Kesgin, Dr. Faculty Member Songül Çağlar and Lecturer. See. Member Seher Zengin Yatırımda Nursing Department third grade students received financial support with Adequate and Balanced Nutrition training by Adile Sağır, Betül Çetin, Betül Metin, Elif Özdemir, Elife Tapar, Mehmet Önder, Mısra Yılmaz and Özkan Çirkin. At the end of the training, 30 trainees, who had more information about Adequate and Balanced Nutrition, expressed their gratitude to the distribution and their consultants and stated that they would improve their training skills in the training diploma.
