Nursing Department Graduate Meeting

Academicians and graduates came together at the Alumni Meeting event organised by the Graduate Follow-up and Evaluation Commission of our Nursing Department of the Faculty of Health Sciences with the support of Career Planning and Graduate Monitoring Application and Research Centre (KARMER).

Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Samettin Gündüz and Prof. Dr. Aydın Him, Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences Prof. Dr. Nazmiye Yıldırım, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nevin Çıtak Bilgin, Head of the Department of Nursing Prof. Dr. Yasemin Yıldırım Usta, Secretary of the Faculty of Health Sciences İbrahim Güler, academic-administrative staff and graduates attended the event held in the Pink Hall of İzzet Baysal Cultural Centre.

The programme started with a moment of silence and the reading of the Turkish National Anthem, followed by a music concert.

The opening speech of the event was given by the graduates of the Nursing Department of the Faculty of Health Sciences of our University. Assist. Mervenur Böyük made the opening speech. Noting that the reference of a department is its graduates, Böyük said, "It is among the main goals to raise graduates who are interested in science, curious, researcher, innovative, respectful to patient rights, adhere to the ethical principles and codes of nursing, and have a strong social transcript."

"Today, the Department of Nursing is successfully represented in our country with hundreds of graduates."

Emphasising that our well-established institution, which started out with the support of the İzzet Baysal Foundation founded by the late philanthropist İzzet Baysal, is now successfully represented in our country and all over the world with hundreds of graduates, Böyük said, "As the Department of Nursing, we are working with all our strength to make our education more qualified at the point we have reached today and to ensure that our graduates graduate with 21st century skills."

"Become a member of Talent Gate."

KARMER Lecturer. Assist. Murat Er emphasised the importance of our graduates becoming a member of the Talent Gate platform and invited the participants to the workshops and trainings opened by the Career Centre. He emphasised that efforts to increase communication with our graduates and students will continue and thanked those who contributed to the preparation of the programme.

"I would like to thank our Rectorate for always supporting us for accreditation."

Prof. Dr. Yasemin Yıldırım Usta, Head of the Nursing Department of the Faculty of Health Sciences, said in her speech: "Changes in the epidemiological characteristics of the populations we serve, technological developments, the prevalence of information and rapid changes in health systems around the world, we strive to accredit, transform and effectively respond to this change in our education system to ensure that you work safely and competently after graduation. I would like to thank once again our Rectorate for always supporting us for accreditation."

Graduate follow-up results shared

Vice Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences, Head of the Graduate Follow-up and Evaluation Commission Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nevin Çıtak Bilgin pointed out that a lot of progress has been made in the nursing profession and said, "However, our journey is not over yet. We still have a lot to achieve, many goals to reach and challenges to overcome. We need to strengthen our collaborations to reconnect, support and inspire each other. I have no doubt that the future holds great things for all of us, individually and collectively. Let's share our stories, dreams, successes and failures. Let's motivate each other to keep moving forward and never give up on our dreams. Let's make the most of this meeting, which is the first step of a new beginning, and continue to show what we can do and create synergy."

After the opening speech, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bilgin shared the results of the graduate follow-up.

Within the scope of the programme, certificates of appreciation were presented to graduates who have completed 20 years in nursing, artists, members of the organising committee and those who contributed to the programme.
