Volunteer Students Started Addiction Fighting Training within the Scope of Social Responsibility Project!

Senior students of Bolu Abant İzzet Baysal University, Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Nursing gave training to faculty students within the scope of the Social Responsibility Course "Don't be addicted, be happy" project. In the project carried out under the supervision of Lecturer Hacer ALPTEKER, the first topic of the training series, "Physiology of Addiction", was explained. Our Nursing Department students, Sevcan SERNİKLİ, İrem EKRİ, Yağmur GÜNEŞ, İrem OKUDUCU, Eren ÇELİK and Mertcan GÜLLÜ took part voluntarily in the training, which showed great interest in the academics. In the training, which was held with the participation of approximately 90 people, topics such as what addiction is, how addiction affects the brain, body, organs and systems, and what kind of lifestyle should be adopted to avoid addiction were touched upon. The training, which was held in cooperation with Bolu Abant İzzet Baysal University, "Addiction Fighting Application and Research Center Directorate", was attended by center director Assoc. Prof. Dr. Makbule TOKUR KESGİN also participated and briefly introduced the center. She also talked about the Addiction Prevention Volunteers group they founded with nursing students. Social Responsibility course project coordinator and Lecturer Hacer Alpteker said; We are ready to cooperate with all volunteers struggling with addiction. I congratulate all my friends who took part in this training. "In cooperation with our central directorate, we will continue to organize these trainings within the scope of a social responsibility project for students and the society in the coming months," he said.
